Also classic-cars keep up with the times: the Ennstal-Classic becomes climate neutralal

The rallies Planai-Classic and Ennstal-Classic become climate neutral with the help of ClimatePartner

They can be seen as a cultural good and their conservation as an aspect of sustainability: classic-cars are so much more than only old cars. They are witnesses of a technical development. In driving them from time to time in an affectionate and dignified manner is at the same time an expression of a fine historic sense.
The Ennstal-Classic GmbH, organizer of the winter rally Planai-Classic and of the famous Ennstal-Classic shows that at the same time it is possible to keep up with the times: In cooperation with ClimatePartner, the experts for climate protection for companies and events the CO2 emissions of both events will be calculated and compensated through approved climate protection projects. Therefore both rallies will become climate neutral!

Appreciation for classic cars and responsibility for the climate must not be an opposition. The slogan of the events sums that up: “Driving in the last Paradise”. The freedom to be able to drive through the paradise of nature obligates us to preserve it.
This is a self-evident concern for the organisers Michael Glöckner and Helmut Zwickl and therefore they try to keep the aftermaths on nature as low as possible and compensate the rest through compensation projects: “We take responsibility and want to set a sign that motor sports without ecological disadvantages is possible and therefore it still is worth the acceptance of our society!”

Driving in the last paradise!

They still exist and we drive them: the last light traffic streets of the Alp-regions. Driving like 50 years ago is what it is all about. An art that is reanimated at the Ennstal-Classic. Where do the participants of the Ennstal-Classic find the last paradise? They do on the beautiful Alp roads as well as on the enchanted passes either driven in the early morning – to gain the strength for the 12-hour Artcurial-Marathon, or in the evening when the finish is near.

It is also the enthusiastic spectators in the leg villages along the route that hand over their love for nostalgy to the participants. Adventure is constantly aboard: when the region becomes lonelier and the headlights are switched on. When the hundredths speed on the stop watch, the eyes of the co-driver stick to the roadbook, those of the driver to the oil-pressure gauge. When thunderstorms arise and try to displace the participants from paradise.

It is the mixture: paradise times sporty challenge times adventure equals a product charged with emotions – an event that has become cult – the Ennstal-Classic.
