A great entry arrived for the Ennstal Classic (July 20th to 23rd, 2022). Alexander Armbruster and Lothar Höss bring a Porsche 904GTS. The coupé produced under the name Carrera GTS between 1963 and 1965 was a milestone for Porsche as it was made of steel and plastic. For the outer skin, Porsche used a lightweight plastic made of glass fiber reinforced polyester resin from BASF for the first time. The body, manufactured by Heinkel in Speyer, was glued and screwed to the box frame. Engines with displacements of 2.0 and 2.2 liters were used. With the 904, Porsche won the brand world championship in 1965 in the 2-litre GT class and in 1964 in the prototype class. The car was then sold at a relatively low price of 29,700 DM.
