Ennstal-Classic celebrates 30th: Packed anniversary program!
Classic cars – They are more than just aging vehicles. They are historical cultural assets. They are contemporary witnesses of technical progress. The Ennstal-Classic is a major European motorsport event with participants from 18 nations and 100,000+ fans from July 21–23.
Porsche has the largest “brand share” with 38 starting places, followed by Alfa Romeo with 22 and Mercedes Benz with 19 vehicles. Exotics like Alvis, Auburn, Cisitalia, Lagonda, Sbarro, Siata and Talbot give the event the title of a traveling museum. For its 30th anniversary, the route crosses the Grossglockner High Alpine Road for the first time, and the Racecar Trophy returns after a multi-year break.
The Glockner circuit on Thursday takes the 234 participants from Gröbming over the Sölkpass to Mauterndorf. It continues through Gmünd – the birthplace of Porsche – to the Brandlhof in Saalfelden, where a special stage is driven on a circuit. This is where the Ennstal Classic meets the parallel Racecar Trophy competition. Finally, it’s back to Schladming via Maria Alm, to the traditional finish at the main square from 7:00 pm onwards.
The marathon on Friday also starts in Gröbming. The entourage drives through the Gesäuse National Park to Mariazell for a lunch break and on via Lunz am See to the traditional stage town of Steyr. Before the cars stop at the town square, a special stage will be contested at the Steyr Automotive plant. From 4:45 pm, a pit stop in Liezen is followed by a special stage at Niederöblarn Alpine Airport, with the field returning to Gröbming at 6:15 pm.

The participants have to get up early! The Stoderzinken mountain challenge starts at 7:30 am. Afterwards, the vehicles gather from 8:45 am onwards right in the center of Gröbming for the starting grid and can be admired by the spectators up close!
The Red Bull Side Act at 12 noon marks the start of the tightly packed final programme. From 12:30, “When Cars Learned to Run” showcases Austrian vintage rarities on a demo drive through automotive history.
At 1:30 pm, Racecar Trophy cars are shown in central Gröbming. The Ennstal-Classic winner is decided in the final test with seven light barriers. Immediately afterwards, the first three can enjoy swimming in the crowd at the Flower Ceremony on the starting ramp!
