New registrations for the Planai-Classic are pouring in – excitement is building day by day. From January 8 to 10, 2026, the region around Gröbming, Niederöblarn, and the Planai will once again transform into a stage for a true winter adventure in classic car motorsport.
One of the last true winter adventures!
The snow grows deeper, the Dachstein Road steeper and more slippery, gusts of wind nearly sweep the vintage cars off the road, and the windows freeze over. The Planai-Classic reveals its true character here: three days of winter adventure with vehicles up to the 1976 model year—no all-wheel drive, no electronic aids. Classics that get to show once more what they’re really capable of in snow and ice. Drifts on snow-covered mountain roads, thrilling special stages, and the snowy Alpine backdrop make the Planai-Classic an unforgettable experience for drivers, co-drivers, and spectators alike.
Highlights of the Planai-Classic 2026:
- Over 30 special stages on winter roads
- Four special stages on closed, wintery mountain roads: Dachstein, Planai, Trabrennbahn Gröbming, and Flugplatz Niederöblarn
- Floodlight Challenge at the Gröbming race track
- Hill climb on the Planai – the legendary ride to the finish at 1,830 meters above sea level
