The 34th Ennstal-Classic once again brings together numerous well-known personalities from the worlds of motorsport, business, culture, and sport in 2026. They are united by their passion for historic automobiles and their enthusiasm for an event that has been regarded as one of Europe’s most prestigious classic car rallies for decades.
With Tobias Moretti and Matthias Walkner, two of Austria’s best-known personalities will line up at the start. Internationally acclaimed actor Tobias Moretti has combined his successful acting career with a long-standing passion for historic automobiles and motorsport. Matthias Walkner made motorsport history as a two-time FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Champion and winner of the 2018 Dakar Rally, becoming the first Austrian ever to win the motorcycle category of the legendary Dakar.
Renowned chef Johann Lafer will make his Ennstal-Classic debut in 2026. The internationally celebrated restaurateur and passionate classic car enthusiast will compete in Austria’s prestigious historic rally for the very first time.
Also joining the field is Richard Lietz, one of Austria’s most successful GT racing drivers. The Porsche works driver has claimed six class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and won the FIA World Endurance Championship title in the GT category.
Another notable participant is Laura Kreihammer, a successful racing driver who is also well known to television audiences as a motorsport expert and presenter on the German TV programme GRIP – Das Motormagazin. German alpine ski racer Thomas Dreßen, a five-time Downhill World Cup winner, has long demonstrated that his technical skills extend far beyond the ski slopes and behind the wheel of historic automobiles.
Siegfried “Sigi” Wolf is among Austria’s most influential industrial managers, having held leading positions in the international automotive and supplier industries for decades.
The Ennstal-Classic also attracts significant international attention on social media. Among this year’s content creators are @alaiialt (France), @classiclifestyleleco (United Kingdom), @leaniedermeier, @chiaradumonde, and @phil.beis, who together reach several hundred thousand classic car and motorsport enthusiasts across Europe.
Another highlight awaits visitors on Saturday, 25 July, at the Porsche Design Grand Prix in Gröbming. Alongside the participants of the Ennstal-Classic, numerous well-known personalities from the worlds of motorsport, sport, and culture are expected to attend.
Timo Bernhard, one of the most successful endurance racing drivers of the past decades, will be coming to the Ennstal. The German racing legend has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring twice, and claimed the FIA World Endurance Championship title.
A special highlight for motorsport fans will be the reunion of the legendary “Trio Infernale”. Hans-Joachim Stuck, Dieter Quester, and Prince Leopold of Bavaria will appear together in Gröbming for the first time in several years. After last year’s planned reunion had to be cancelled at short notice, visitors can finally look forward to seeing the three fan favourites reunited in 2026.
Rally legend Rauno Aaltonen, affectionately known throughout the motorsport world as “The Professor”, made history with his victory at the Monte Carlo Rally and his European Rally Championship title. The Ennstal-Classic also welcomes singer and actor Peter Kraus, who has been closely connected to the classic car community for many years.
Also travelling to Gröbming is Daniele Audetto, one of Europe’s most experienced and successful motorsport managers. The former Ferrari Sporting Director played a key role in several Formula One World Championship campaigns before going on to lead other renowned racing teams.
Representing Austrian sport is Hans Knauß. The former Alpine Ski World Cup winner from Schladming is now one of Austria’s best-known television sports experts.
Motorsport enthusiasts can also look forward to welcoming back Klaus Ludwig. The three-time DTM Champion, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Spa, and two-time winner of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring is regarded as one of Germany’s greatest racing drivers of all time.
Once again, the Ennstal-Classic 2026 brings together an exceptional line-up of motorsport legends, successful athletes, business leaders, and cultural personalities, making the Ennstal the meeting place of the international classic car community for four unforgettable days.
